Below is my letter to these culture vultures! hopefully it inspires you or gives you some ideas!
You people are truly disgusting. What the hell is wrong with all of you?!?!?!? Isn’t it bad enough that practically all indigenous cultures were destroyed by white Europeans without you ‘culture vultures’ distorting, destroying, and re-inventing false histories about the Mayan people? Sure, to all you white people it’s cute to play “Indian dress up” pretending to be Mayan, when your as white as un-cooked dough. See how much all you ****ers like being Mayan, and part of the “Mayan cosmology” when your shot at by the Mexican or Guatemalan army simply FOR being Mayan. Let’s see how “fun” and “cute” it is to be Mayan when you’re forced to live in utter poverty and squalor fending of institutionalized racism and discrimination. You really go over the top by claiming you sell Mayan clothing. For one, it’s over priced! If only Mayans had so much money to buy your “Mayan clothing”, and second its made by white people, what made you think you can recreate Mayan culture when you have no culture of your own…to you ****s, culture is consumerism and capitalism. Sounds like you are paying attention to a whole lot of pain and suffering.

I was told in April of 1998, face to face by some Mayan representatives, supposed shaman, (Thugs) from the Council of Elders that I was robbing Maya shaman and their villages $100.00 for each free Mayan name (Sun Sign) that we provide.
To you white tourists, $100.00 is the normal charge for a session with a Mayan shaman while he does his magic and comes up with your Mayan birthdate from a 600 or so page, "sacred?" printed by western technology, effemerice book.
For this supposed theft I was warned that I would to be put to death by hanging the next time I drop by Guatemala.
